Project Description

Troodos

The imposing Troodos mountain range, located in the heart of Cyprus, is an amazing place with its highest peak, Mount Olympos, at 1951m above sea level.

Nestled in this cool green forest range are some of the most beautiful & tranquil Hill resorts of the Island, picturesque villages, wineries, charming Hotels, old Byzantine Monasteries & churches, 10 of which are listed UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The tranquil region is ideal for long walks among pine scented forests in the summer while it also offers the opportunity for skiing during some of the winter months.

Besides the Machairas region to the east and the Troodos region surrounding the tallest peak of Mount Olympus, there are four other distinct regions with its own character and charm. These regions are the Pitsilia area east of Mount Olympus, the Solea Valley to the north, the Marathasa Valley to the west and the Krassochoria (wine villages) region to the south.

The Troodos Visitors Centre, located 200m from Troodos square is the first of its kind in Cyprus and provides a lot of information about the region including the geology of the area, fauna & flora and the various facilities and activities that are available.
